Local Lifestyle

While it's easy to get caught up in viewing the many beautiful homes in the area, residents of Paradise Valley still appreciate the small town, almost rural feel of their community. With a smaller population, Paradise Valley represents people who love to be surrounded by beauty. Their commitment to preserving a continual feast for the eyes is evident in their dedication to maintaining the luxury exteriors of their homes, as well as the surrounding area, in the form of the Paradise Valley Mountain Preserve Trust. This trust was formed to protect all the desert plants, natural desert landscapes, and scenic vistas of the mountain areas that make Paradise Valley such a unique location.

It should come as no surprise that so much natural splendor would also attract plenty of visitors from around the country. The Paradise Valley area is host to nine resort spas, along with three premier golf courses. Everywhere you look, you’ll find swimming pools, breathtaking mountain views, and swaying palm trees. Both residents and tourists enjoy the luxurious yet relaxing and peaceful atmosphere that can only be found in a place like Paradise Valley.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Of course, paradise living wouldn't be complete without a variety of venues dedicated to providing the best in shopping and dining experiences. Of particular note is El Chorro restaurant. Enjoy a dinner out at this establishment and feast on their trout almondine or crab oscar. This amazing restaurant offers a feast for the palate within a beautiful, intimate setting and stunning mountain views from its exclusive location.

If you're interested in a more casual environment for lunch with friends, consider the O.H.S.O. Brewery + Distillery, located in nearby Scottsdale. Choose from their braised short ribs, or try one of their famous burgers or one of their many other delicious options. O.H.S.O. also offers vegan and gluten-free menu items as well.

For shopping, the Paradise Village Gateway is located in Phoenix, just north of the outskirts of Paradise Valley. For those that live in southeastern Paradise Valley, Scottsdale Fashion Square is just minutes away. Both shopping centers offer the best in shopping experiences, dining out for lunch or dinner, and a host of personal services.

For entertaining out-of-town visitors and guests, consider visiting one of the many local art galleries or take in some local musical entertainment at the Jade Bar, located in the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort.

Things to Do

Although Paradise Valley may have a stately but low-key vibe, there's no lack of things to do in the area. Spend the day hiking or biking on one of the many local mountain trails, then pamper yourself with a massage or facial at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, A Gurney's Resort & Spa. Enjoy a challenging game of golf at the Mountain Shadows Resort in Scottsdale, then review all your scores in their relaxing bar.

If you like sightseeing, be sure to take in the stunning panoramic city views by hiking one of the two trails (Echo Canyon or Cholla) located on Camelback Mountain. Art lovers will enjoy the many immersive art experiences (e.g., yoga, date night) available in the Lighthouse Artspace Phoenix in nearby Scottsdale.

Schools

The Paradise Valley Unified School District represents all the schools within the Paradise Valley area. Of particular note is:
  • Fireside Elementary School (boasts a student-teacher ratio of 18 students per teacher)
