The city has a predominantly agricultural history. Its history was built on a veterinarian's vision of Dr. Alexander John Chandler, who became instrumental in building an early canal system. The area has unique attractions for locals and visitors, including an ostrich festival and a world-renowned skate park.


Chandler is one of the most playful cities in the nation, with over 50 local parks. It is a great central location to explore Arizona's scenic wonders and world-renowned attractions with its central location. The city is close to bigger towns like Phoenix, Mesa, and Avondale and just two minutes from major airports.

Chandler golf offers lush fairways, expansive views, and great golf values in the Valley of the sun. There are seven championship courses, including the San Marcos Golf Course. Also, the city has many dog parks, beautiful neighborhoods for daily walks, and pools in almost every yard.

The city offers many entertaining spots to dine, shop, and enjoy. It has aesthetically pleasing shopping centers and a great downtown with fun nightlife. There are plenty of small local establishments to support a unique, small-town vibe. 


You can dine in any of the thriving, locally-owned restaurants and bars of downtown Chandler. The city has many delicious dining experiences, including Shimogamo Japanese Restaurant and the Keg Steakhouse + Bar


There are plenty of shops nearby, with almost every corner having a convenience store. Shop the Chandler Fashion Center and Phoenix Premium Outlets for the latest fashion attire. You can find anything on any budget in these high-end shopping centers and restaurants. You never run out of restaurants, beauty salons, or shopping places in Chandler. 


Things to Do

This lively and scenic city has plenty to draw you into it. It offers a wealth of activities and things to see and do, whether seeking art and cultural experiences, golf outings, nightlife, or fun for the whole family. More than 60 parks in Chandler offer environmental education displays, a playground for kids, a ranch museum, and plenty of room to play. 


Splash into fun at one of the six aquatic facilities, or kick your boots at the Keg barbecue and beer festival with the hottest country music, craft beer, and BBQ. You can find family fun at the Crayola Experience in Chandler. There are dozens of creative activities and a full day of family fun. There are also baseball fields, tennis courts, and some excellent bike trails, with something of interest for everyone. 


Enjoy the over 60 public art pieces at the Chandler Center for the Arts. The center has a Vision Art Gallery and a 1500-seat performing arts theater featuring performances and local ballet. It offers a chance to see exciting plays, shows, and comedies. Chandler's Eddie Basha Collection is home to the symphony orchestra.


Living in Chandler allows you to visit local museums and learn about the city and how it was founded. It will take you a trip 100 years back when wandering the grounds of the Chandler Museum and Arizona Railway Museums. Swing on by the annual Chandler ostrich festival every spring to see a man ride a bird!


Schools

There are two school districts in the Chandler area, Mesa School District and the Gilbert School District. Regardless of where you fall, Chandler has excellent public schools. Most schools are highly rated for graduation rates, attendance, and extracurricular offerings. You can easily find a perfect school within a reasonable distance. Notable schools include:
